Update From Administrator – July 30, 2020
July 30, 2020
Our team and I hope this email finds you safe and healthy.
I can’t believe how fast this month has gone by; we have been very busy here at Maefair. Our daily rounds have proven to improve in staff and resident relationships. I look forward to our continued growth and thank my team for all they have accomplished through these last couple of months. Maefair continues to pride ourselves in striving for the best care possible for your loved one, and for our Maefair Family. We cannot thank you enough for everyone who has donated items to Maefair. It is so refreshing to know that we have such a great support system.
We look forward to celebrating our postponed Nursing home week. Our team has come up with some great ideas that we look forward to. Our celebration will begin the week of August 9th. The theme for this year’s National Nursing home week is “Sharing Wisdom” and we look forward to learning and listening to your loved ones sharing their wisdom with us. Please look for updates and on our Facebook page for all the events.
Please remember that the outdoor visits must be pre-scheduled to ensure safe and healthy visits for you, the residents, and our staff. It also allows our team to ensure your loved one is available and ready for your visit to make the most of your time together. These visits require appropriate PPE (masks) to be worn at all times and a social distance of 6 feet between you and your loved ones for the entirety of the visit. The specific guidelines and details regarding perimeter visits can be found on our website and Facebook page. If these restrictions pose issues for you please keep in mind that we continue to offer other visitation alternatives like Facetime, Skype and window visits. You can schedule a visit by calling 203.459.5152 or emailing us at recreation@maefairhcc.com
Please see attached for the recreation calendar for the month of August.
Coming up next week:
•National Watermelon day- Watermelon smoothie cooking demo and tasting
•Ice cream social
•National water balloon day (( This should be fun!!))
** We are planning a family parade for Wednesday, August 12th. We will have more details for you during the Town Hall Meeting**
We are happy to report that we remain currently COVID free! As mentioned on our last Town Hall call, we conducted another round of resident and staff testing this past week and all test results returned negative. We will conduct another round this week, to include any new admissions and new staff during the last week, and are hopeful that we will remain free of the virus.
Some of our families have inquired about increasing time outdoors so we are actively trying to get people out of their rooms while maintaining the appropriate safety measures. As we continue to maintain a COVID-free status, we will hopefully be able to reduce restrictions under the guidance of the CDC and Department of Public Health.
Our next “Town Hall” meeting is scheduled for Friday, July 31st at 4pm. We encourage any residents and family members to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have about the care we are offering. Our commitment is to be as transparent as possible and work to address any issues that arise.
We look forward to meeting with you tomorrow. As always please don’t ever hesitate to call myself or any team member for any questions, concerns and suggestions.
Thank you and have a great evening,
Rita Lynch and the Maefair Team
