Update from Administrator – August 26, 2020
August 26,2020
As always, our team and I hope this email finds you safe and healthy.
As per our previous call, every resident and staff member whether they had tested positive previously would be swabbed on a weekly basis until further notice. Unfortunately we informed all families that we had a positive case in house which we found out was a “False Positive”.
During our call on Friday, we had reported that our residents who tested positive would be transferred to a COVID recovery building. Through guidance from our corporate office we will now be able to have our residents recover in place.
As you know more than anyone, it’s been a difficult few months as our center has battled with COVID-19. While the number of individuals stricken with the virus has decreased dramatically, we know that it is possible we will be dealing with another surge of positive cases in our community. We urge you to not participate in window or patio visits if you do not feel well or have travelled to hot spots.
Our Director of Infection Control Sherri, is available to answer any questions.
A few quick reminders.
- Must be pre-scheduled to ensure safe and healthy visits for you, the residents, and our staff. It also allows our team to ensure your loved one is available and ready for your visit to make the most of your time together.
- Face coverings must always be worn and a social distance of 6 feet between you and your loved ones for the entirety of the visit.
- Check out our website for specific guidelines and details regarding perimeter visits.
- Alternative visits (Facetime, Skype, and window visits) are still taking place. You can schedule a visit by calling 203-459-5152 or emailing us at recreation@mefairhcc.com
HOW CAN WE CHANGE THIS AS WE HAVE POSITIVE BACK IN THE BUILDING
Our entire team has been at work planning for this possibility, and we’d like your input as we continue to refine our strategy to keep all of our residents and staff safe. To that end, we have developed this brief survey that we are asking family members and residents to complete. It will only take you a few minutes and will help us learn what your priorities and main concerns may be.
Please click on this link to take a brief survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZXF356S which will remain open until August 31.
Your participation is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration and stay safe
As a reminder, our next “Town Hall” meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 8/27/2020.
We have more CDC and Department of health updates and new guidelines to share with you as well as events at Maefair.
We encourage any residents and family members to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have about the care we are offering. Our commitment is to be as transparent as possible and work to address any issues that arise.
Thank you and please stay safe and healthy!
Rita Lynch and the Maefair Team
